The Centre for Informatics and Computing (CIR) at the Ruđer Bošković Institute invites highly motivated researchers for an upcoming Postdoctoral Researcher position across two distinct research tracks for a period of 2 years.

Track 1: AI, Cheminformatics & Computational Drug Design

This track is at the intersection of machine learning, cheminformatics, and structure-based computational drug design. In this role, you will develop ML-driven virtual screening pipelines, run molecular simulations (molecular dynamics, docking), and accelerate targeted cancer therapeutic discovery.

Candidate profile:

·         PhD (completed or near completion) in Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biophysics, or related fields

·         Strong programming proficiency (e.g., Python).

·         Experience with molecular modelling/simulation packages and virtual screening tools.

·         Strong interest in translational precision oncology.

Track 2: High-Performance Computing (HPC), AI & Applied Mathematics

This track focuses on high-performance numerical algorithms and scientific software engineering. In this role, you will contribute to national and international research initiatives, developing scalable numerical linear algebra kernels for exascale HPC systems, implementing mixed-precision arithmetic, conducting software performance analysis, and applying AI methods to speedup numerical calculations.

Candidate profile:

·         PhD (completed or near completion) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Computational Engineering, or related fields.

·         Demonstrated experience in developing and optimizing software for parallel/HPC environments.

·         Solid background in numerical methods, linear algebra, and code profiling/performance engineering.

·         Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and applied AI applications.
